A hair clip is a fastener used to hold sections of hair in place. It usually combines a decorative outer face with a functional mechanism underneath, such as a spring, hinge, clasp or comb teeth. The same basic idea is used for everyday styles, formal updos and bridal looks, but the construction changes a great deal from one style to the next.
